Papakura Art Gallery is a community art gallery in the heart of the central business district.
Housed in the historic Papakura Fire Station on Averill Street, the Gallery is close to key amenities and has off-street parking directly outside.
Administered by Papakura District Council, its role is to support the promotion of the arts in the district and support the growing number of artists in the community.
A key role is to maintain an exhibition programme which enhances and supports community development. Exhibitions are supported by interpretive material and programmes including artist talks, educational programmes and classes.
Some exhibitions feature works that are for sale, while others are purely educational. The annual exhibition programme complements and supports key events and festivals in the district, as well as covering a wide range of media, and both historical and contemporary topics.
The gallery aims to support artists through workshops to develop their personal and artistic abilities.
The Art Gallery can also be booked as a venue for corporate and community events.
