Papakura District Museum is moving...

Yes, the rumours are true . . . we are on the move but it is business as usual until October 2010.

Accent Point is currently being refurbished so please bear with all the hammering, temporary walls while construction of our new facility takes place.     However the Museum is open on level four and it is business as usual until we move downstairs to our new location. We have a great line up of displays coming up, so do keep coming in.

The new Museum will be accessible from Great South Road, with no use of lifts or escalators, and we hope that it will give us much more street appeal. We will also be opposite the new proposed café – so you can come in and see us, then pop over for a coffee and something great to eat.

You can still gain access to the museum by using the main lift to the 4th floor while the upgrades take place.

We are due to move into our new location in early October 2010.

The redevelopment is part of the Papakura District Council Legacy Projects. This is a series of projects which focus on benefiting the community and that are competed before the Council ceases to exist in November 2010.

Other Legacy Projects are Papakura Art Gallery and Hawkins Theatre upgrades.

We would like to acknowledge Papakura District Council’s undertaking of this project as part of the Legacy Series.
